The Tower is the largest, most impressive apartment building ever built. It has a glass elevator, a fantastic ballroom, and offices decorated in shocking yellow with burnt orange computer terminals. Soon after it’s finished, however, the electrical system explodes, leaving hundred of drunken leisure-suited partygoers stranded in this Towering Inferno!

What could be the cause of such a disaster? Is it the architect– hell-bent on making a name for himself by changing the San Francisco skyline? Or is it his stressed-out alcoholic son, the contractor, who could only keep the project under budget by cutting corners on the wiring?

The central characters in this disaster film attempt many different ludicrous and corny schemes to save everyone from certain doom, like stretching a wire to the next building so they can glide to safety in a little gondola, one at a time. We also get to see old ladies jump down elevator shafts, old guys tied to scenery, and flaming stuntmen jump through plate-glass windows!
With an All-Star Ensemble, featuring the likes of: Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, William Holden, Faye Dunaway, Fred Astaire, Richard Chamberlain, OJ Simpson, Dabney Coleman, and Mike Lookinland (you know, from the Brady Bunch!?) The only way this film could be better is if Sparky Marcus were in it, too!
This film has it all! Sacrifices made in the name of love, corporate corruption and scandal, frightened children, and Towering 1970’s hairdos. The interior decoration alone is reason enough to rent this movie!
